This culinary lavender from the Le Chatelard 1802 range, packaged in a metal tin (300ml) is ideal as a gift or for use in the kitchen. This organic, wild harvested lavender is grown in Provence and packaged in St. Auban sur Ouveze. The Montaud family have cultivated lavender since 1802, still using traditional methods.
This culinary lavender has an intense flavour and a little goes along way. It can be sprinkled on lamb chops, goats cheese toasts, packed with coarse sea salt in an airtight container for 2 weeks to make fragrant lavender salt, mixed with herbs and olive oil for marinades, dressings and dips. Also great for baking; lavender creme brulee, lavender ice cream and lavender biscuits. To prepare a relaxing herbal tea to soothe and sedate the senses, add one teaspoon of lavender to a tea pot of boiled water. It can also be used to make lavender floral water and for soap making.
